The UCGo! Startup License is an optional, standardized, non-negotiable license agreement between the University and a startup founded by a UChicago researcher that is seeking to commercialize University technology. The program is a new addition to licensing at UChicago.
The UCGo! Startup License program will streamline and simplify the licensing process for University startup companies, shortening the timeline and minimizing the company’s legal costs. This program lowers the barriers for University faculty, researchers and campus entrepreneurs for their business endeavors based on University technology, helping to advance entrepreneurship at the University, encouraging collaboration across campus, and attracting investors interested in UChicago-based startups.
